The Jazzkollektiv Babelsberg was founded in April 2020 by five ambitious jazz musicians from Potsdam.
The musicians became aware of each other during a regular jazz session at the Babelsberg Kulturhaus. With a rehearsal opportunity on stage at the Babelsberg Kulturhaus, the name was also quickly found.
The program essentially includes hard bop by Lee Morgan and Cliffort Brown, among others. Hard-Bop combines from the mid-50s the freedoms of bebop with elements of blues and gospel music.
