CLASSIC, that is Athil Hamdan (cello) and Ziad Hakim (piano).

Athil Hamdan graduated with a Master of Science, M.Sc., in musicology and cello class with Prof. P. Kupin from the Odessa National Conservatory in 1995. He has played with many orchestras, including Egypt, Jordan, Russia, Belgium and with the International Youth Orchestra under the direction of Claudio Abaddo.  He has also given many concerts as a solo artist in various venues and many countries, such as France, Italy, Russia, Ukraine, Armenia, Belgium, Germany with the Rundfunk Köln orchestra and Kammersymphonie orchestra Berlin, Spain, Greece, Turkey, the USA with the UC La Symphony orchestra, Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon, Tunisia, Algeria, Morocco and Egypt.

The pianist Ziad Hakim comes from Aleppo and completed his first musical studies at the “Arab Music Institute Aleppo” there, before he went to the Moscow Uchilichy pre Tchaikovsky Conservatory as a scholarship holder in 1987 to perfect his skills with Ramanoff and Prof. Meglumoff. His further path led him to the Hochschule für Musik “Hanns Eisler” in Berlin in 1992. Here he studied with Prof. Alan Marks and Prof. Galina Ivanzova. Ziad Hakim has performed as a soloist and chamber musician in Germany, the Netherlands, Austria and Switzerland.

JAZZ, that is the Jazzkollektiv Babelsberg from Potsdam with the 5 musicians: Robert Wagner (piano), Chris Martin (bass), Jürgen Schötz (drums), Harry Petersen (saxophone) and Stephan Blank (trumpet/flugelhorn).

The Jazzkollektiv Babelsberg will be performing at the Kammerspiele Kleinmachnow on 07.05.22. Among other things, the professional band has dedicated itself to hardbop jazz, an era shaped by well-known performers such as Art Blakey & the Jazz Messengers, Horace Silver or Lee Morgan. So you can hear blues, bossa from that time, but also current, interesting original compositions.  The five musicians, who come from different places, met at the established Jazztime in Babelsberg at the Kulturhaus Babelsberg. They play piano (Robert Wagner, Magdeburg), bass (Chris Martin, Duisburg), drums (Jürgen Schötz, Potsdam), saxophone (Harry Petersen, Denver USA) and trumpet/flugelhorn (Stephan Blank, Dorsten).

It promises to be an entertaining evening.
